Dear Roosevelt Elementary Families and Friends:

Welcome! My name is Olga Hanna, and as Principal of Roosevelt Elementary, I feel honored to lead an exemplary community of educators, students, parents, and volunteers. Together, we will continue Roosevelt’s high standard of educational excellence in 2017-2018, and beyond. At Roosevelt our PBIS Rules truly reflect what we represent; however, I am most proud of the L in the acronym RULES. The “L” stands for “Learning First”. With this emphasis, Roosevelt staff is committed to meeting the learning needs of our students as individuals as we seek to educate the whole child.

For those of you who don’t know me, I have been in education for 25+ years, holding teaching licenses in both Texas and Wisconsin. I began my teaching vocation in south Texas as a 4 th grade teacher. After I moved to Wisconsin to pursue graduate studies, I coordinated a pre-college program for Madison Area Technical College for two years. Thereafter, I accepted an ELL/Bilingual teaching position with Madison Metropolitan School District. Three years later, my family relocated to Janesville, and I taught Spanish PK-8 th at St. Mary School. In 2011, I graduated from National-Louis with a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision. I served our district as Jefferson Elementary Building Assistant, Community Learning Center Coordinator, ELL/Bilingual Teacher, 2015 Summer School Head Teacher, ELL Parent Advisory Committee Co-Chair, and 2014 Summer International Education Institute Elementary Head Teacher.

I have a passion for global education, a love for elementary aged children, expertise in elementary pedagogy, and the enthusiasm of being a collaborative and compassionate leader and lifelong learner. I am also a wife and mother. My husband, Simon, is a Janesville native and together we have three amazing children that fill our spare time with their extracurricular activities.

I highly value the importance of communication and being visible and available to staff, students, and parents. My door is always open. Please feel free to stop in anytime.

Roosevelt Proud!

Mrs. Hanna,
Principal Roosevelt Elementary School
